Noah cracks me up! For some reason lately he feels like he needs to pull a crazy face when I take his pictures, like the one above. He had pajama day at school on Friday & his teacher asked him a few questions about night & day, here's how he responded:

I can't believe my baby is ONE! The year flew by.

Ruby is so much fun! She is always happy, she loves eating & playing with her big brother.

We had a pajama party for her on Saturday night. We ate breakfast for dinner & sat by the fire. It was a cozy night, especially because the snow was fluttering outside. Ruby got so many cute gifts & really enjoyed her cake! Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!

I just love this time of year! We're definitely Summer people, but we've managed to have some fun moments so far in this cold weather. We've played in the snow, built big fires in our fireplace, enjoyed delicious hot chocolate, decorated Christmas trees, made yummy Holiday treats including, homemade marshmallows and pumpkin pie.
Carli and I decided to get crazy and went black Friday shopping... we had a blast. It was insanely busy but we laughed lots and got some serious bargains!

Carli and I decorated 2 Christmas trees at my Grandparents house, we think they turned out awesome!

This little girl just melts my heart. She is so happy and fun to be around.

Last week Noah had an appointment at Primary Childrens hospital to check his leg.

My parents went to Hawaii (Jealous) for a week so DJ is spending some time at our house... we're having fun!

The kids and I went to see Dave at work. Although it's not really legal, the baliff snuck all three of us in to watch Dave in action. The court said "All rise" when the judge walked in, and as he approached his seat Noah whispered "He's mad!" Ha ha... it was adorable.

When the trial was over Noah met the judge and discovered that he wasn't mad at all, in fact, he was very happy and even let Noah talk into the microphone (which he thought was hilarious and eventually yelled into). Noah loved seeing his Dad at work! I quizzed him later and asked him what Daddy does for work and he responded "He talks!"

Noah has the best preschool teacher. I seriously love her. She is wonderful with the "friends" as she calls them and Noah is always so excited to go. Every week or so she asks the kids a few random questions. They have to do with the letter they're learning. This week was letter C.

1. Who is cute? A: Mommy

2. What is your favorite candy? A: Reece's

3. What do cows give us? A: Food

4. Do you have a favorite color? A: Blue

Love the fact that my child thinks I'm cute :) And how cows give us food... ha ha! Last week she asked him "Who is beautiful?" and he answered "Ruby" Awwww... he really knows how to answer correctly! I just my little man!

Cake batter. This little man loves running around with nothing but his big boy underwear on. And whenever I ask him to put clothes on he asks... "Where we going?" So silly.

Ruby is sick for the very first time. Poor thing. She has a runny nose, cough and on top of that she's teething. It's been a rough couple nights (Waking almost every 30 minutes). I really hope she gets better soon!

I'm telling you, Noah is such a little sweetheart. He adores his little Ruby and treats her so nice. When he needs to go potty or find a toy he'll come find me to sit with Ruby so she won't have to be alone. He'll hold her bottle and give her toys. Yesterday Noah and Ruby were in Kids club at the gym, I guess Ruby started crying and Noah dropped what he was doing, ran to her and said "Oh no! What happened to my Ruby?" The girls were dying. He really is such a sweet kid.

Noah rode a horse for the first time last week at a church party, he loved it. They also had a bounce house which made me nervous (Because of his leg). The power went out and Noah patiently sat and waited for it blow up again... it never did.

Awww... Look at that skinny little leg. When they took the cast off he cried his little eyes out! The doctor said the cast is like a childs "Bandaid" and makes them feel safe, so when it comes off they feel very scared. He acted really sad and cried a lot the first couple of days. He is now moving around (Scooting not walking) and it could be up to 2 weeks before he walks again. He'll stand up but won't put any weight on it. I think he loves being normal again!

Oh my gosh. I really need a vacation. Yesterday I was turning left off the freeway and there was a diesel truck next to me and a small white car facing me. I suddenly realized there wasn't enough room for me to fit through so I stopped, next thing I know... BAM the diesel crashed into the right side of my car. It was terrifying. Both kids were screaming and I felt so helpless. I knew it wasn't my fault because he completely hit me and was in my lane. The police came and guess who was at fault??? ME! What!??? Amazing. I was completely stopped, someone hit me and somehow it was my fault. Perfect.

It's already hard getting Noahs little body in the van and now the door won't open. I couldn't sleep last night because I was seriously in unbelief. I just wanna run away and hide. This may be the worst summer of my life.

Let me tell you, life is ca-ray-zee over here at the Booth household. And this Mama can't sit down for more then 3 minutes at a time. Noah needs me to help him go potty, pick up a toy he dropped, change his show, feed him, give him medicine, wipe the spilled juice off his chest... etc. Don't get me wrong I love taking care of him and am so happy he's doing well but today I just needed a break! So when D came home from work I left... here's what I did:

-Got my nails "Shellaced"

Purchased Ruby this darling little dress from Nordstrom

Bought a yummy smelling candle for my room

and went to (Of course) Lowes... I go there lots these days.

It was nice to be alone, sometimes I just love being all by myself. Now I'm home and back on duty :) Only 4 more weeks to go...

Broken Femur :(

My little man has a broken leg. Last Saturday, Noah, Dave, Dave's brother Mike and his 2 sons were playing football. Little Noah was just minding his own business when Dave tripped and kicked Noahs leg. Total accident, Dave feels SO bad. We took a trip to the emergency room in Riverton and were then transferred by ambulance to Primary childrens in SLC.

I was A MESS. I can't even describe the way I felt, it was horrible. It is the worst thing EVER to hear your child screaming of pain and there's not a thing you can do. He has to have the cast on for 6 to 8 weeks. We're one week down. Thank you so very much to those who have sent gifts, brought meals and prayed for us. We're hanging in there.

All 4 of us packed our bags and took a trip to our old home in sunny Cali. It was dreamy. We saw wonderful friends and Family, went to our fav spots, ate our most missed foods, soaked up the sun and enjoyed every moment. Here are the photos in no particular order...

Ruby getting her diaper changed at the Disneyland baby care center, Have you taken your baby there? It's so old fashioned and charming. They have a nursing room, a diaper changing room and even miniature toilets for potty training children. It's a nice getaway from the craziness of the park.

Our Orange tree (Yes we were sneaky and peaked over someone else's fence). We planted tis tree the first year we moved to Orange and we only got 1 orange from it. Apparently it waited until we moved (5 years later) to produce. We were dying over how big it was.

This little lady is turning into a dream baby. She was a little difficult and needy at first but now, she's eating good, sleeping good and even entertaining herself good. She's happy all the time and talking lots. She's still small, not sure of her weight but I do know she's much smaller then Noah was! I absolutely adore this little girl and I'm SO lucky she's mine!

Today is supposed to be 80 degrees. Hallelujah!!! Yesterday was "Warm and nice" (As Noah would say) so we set up the mini pool. Noah loved it.

He then had a poolside lunch.

I'm SO happy to have a yard for Noah to play in. Our little place in Orange only had a teeny, tiny patio with no grass, so this place is just dreamy. He's not the only one loving it... Meatloaf (Our kitty) is in heaven. I've never seen him prance and jump around like this before!

TO DO:

1. Grout bathroom floor

3. Clean house

4. Run errands... Xpedex, Dollar tree, Maceys (Which I swear is the best grocery store ever)

I feel SO lucky to have such a happy, healthy Family. My kiddos are so much fun, they keep me smiling throughout the day. Dave is such a hard worker and is always saying something to crack me up. If it's not his comments about the bachelorette it's him teasing me about forgetting to clean out the dryer vent (Which was SO SO SO full, like, words can't describe!!!), I feel like one lucky gal.

We'll be in California this weekend for my Birthday so my cute Family threw me an early surprise bash which included lots of balloons, streamers, presents, 2 different cakes and hello... great company!!! Can't believe I'm gonna be 29 by the way, why am I getting so old?

Well I was gifted some great gifts... H&M gift card, some vintage childrens books and last but not least a picnic table. Pretty cool. Now I need to decide whether or not to paint it... what do you think? Actually I've done so much painting lately that the sound of it seems awful, but anything to make it cuter right?!! Wait, is cuter a word? Anyway just so you know the husband and I have plans to Barbecue all Summer long and all you (Well the ones I know) are invited. I absolutely love having people over but ever since we moved to Utah we don't seem to have as many friends as we did in Cali. So... be our friends and come enjoy the new picnic table!

I am busy. There are so many things I want to do, so many things I need to do. Every night I hop into my clean, cozy bed and think about what I achieved during the day and usually, it's not much. I feel frustrated. My mind is all over the place... I can't stay on track. I'll be busy doing one thing and the next minute I'm online looking for inspiring ideas for something else I've dreamed up, then I realize "What happened, how did I end up here?" Right now I'm preparing for Mothers day, a friends babe shower and a very much anticipated trip back to our old home in Cali. It seems once I get going on something Ruby begins to cry or Noah screams from the bathroom "Mom... come wipe my bum!" Life is crazy, but at the same time happy. I just wish I was a little more organized and was better at staying on one task at a time.

Noah has the 5th virus. He went to bed with red cheeks and woke up with even brighter red cheeks, so I thought he should probably see the doctor. He's acting a little more tired then usual but is normal besides that!

Dave did his first triathlon of the year with his friend Christopher. Dave misses OC and the opportunity to mountain bike a couple times a week. He now keeps himself active at the gym, we're so excited for the warm weather so we can be outside!

Who knew a new lawn mower could be so exciting? These 2 boys are loving it!

We have 2 apples trees and Dave was busy a couple weeks ago trimming them back. Unfortunately Dave left a low branch and my Dad ran right into it and hit his eye ball! OUCH. After a quick trip the the E.R and some Tylenol he's fine and is healing up great.

Remember THIS post? Well... after hours and hours of taping, measuring and painting the wall is no longer bare and I LOVE IT!!!

I used a triangle to get all the V's even. I then measured 6" up from the top and bottom of each V and traced another triangle. When finished taping I caulked each line, waited 30 minutes for it to dry a bit, then painted (Dave did most of the painting, thank you darling!). We immediately pulled off the tape and each line was crisp (Thanks to the caulk) so there was no need for touch ups. This project was a pain in the bum but well worth it in the end!

Today My little guy is 4. I can't believe how fast he's growing up... makes me sad!

What he's up to:

-He wants to eat constantly! He's always in the kitchen

-He man handles his lizard everyday

-First thing in the morning he wants to give the kitty food and fresh water

-He loves getting in the "Rain" (Shower)

-He asks to go to "Guitar" (Target) to buy toys and popcorn

-He calls Ruby a "He"... "Oh mom he's so cute!"

-He loves to play and make believe

Basically he is so much fun to have around. He says silly things and makes us laugh everyday. He is the sweetest little thing and I'm so lucky he's mine! Happy Birthday to my favorite little guy!

Our weekend

We had a wonderful weekend. Friday and Saturday were warm and sunny. We played outside, gave our baby girlie a blessing, ate treats and mexican food.

Sunday was snowy and blizzardy cold. We started a fire, hung with Family and watched funny movies. I'm always sad when the weekend ends...

Welcome Spring

Today is officially the first day of spring and I am welcoming it with wide open arms. This winter has not been fun at all. It's been hard on all of us. When it's bitter cold, dark and ugly outside we can't help but miss our old home in California. We've complained lots but are trying to find (And focus on) the positives in our new location. So as you can imagine I am very happy about Spring finally arriving. Now I know it's still going to be cold for the next 6 to 8 weeks but I can see the light... warmth is on it's way and I'm so excited.

On a completely different note I'm looking for a new camera.

An SLR to be exact. Dave said I can purchase one as long as I do some research so I know I'm getting a good one.

So darlings... what do you shoot with? Any amazing cameras you're dreaming of? Know of a good one? Please help!

My baby sis is trying out for cheerleading in a few weeks so Carli and I decided to join her at tumbling practice. I thought... "Oh it'll be simple, I used to be so good!" WRONG. I'm not as strong as I used to be, but I guess I did have a baby only 7 weeks prior, oh and that was another thing, I almost peed my pants many a times :)

At the gym they call this guy "Blue", (not sure why) he jumps so high on the tramp that he can hang from the ceiling! He had THE sweetest mullet.

I spent the entire day on this baby, Grandma Halls old Bernina. Which I love by the way.

I'm working on a very special dress for my little tiny lady. My sister came to help and sewed the entire skirt, which saved me at least one whole day - She's the best.

How do you stain remove?

Lately I'm cleaning lots of poop and spit up stains outta baby girls clothes :) So much fun. And as I'm doing it I wonder "Am I using the best technique?"

Here's what I do...

Spray the spot with this:

I then rub Tide with bleach (Powder) detergent over the top of the Oxi Clean and let it sit for 10 minutes, then wash.

It works good most of the time, but sometimes the stain isn't completely gone.

SO... whats your trick? What works for you? Tell me your stain removing secrets!

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
40 miniature chocolate covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Directions                     Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; set aside.                 
                     Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butter and  brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla and milk. Add the  flour mixture; mix well. Shape into 40 balls and place each into an  ungreased mini muffin pan.                 
                     Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from  oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball.  Cool and carefully remove from pan.

I can't believe 2 weeks have already passed since little Ruby made her big debut. It seems like in the blink of an eye I went from very pregnant and anxious to suddenly being a mother of 2. I recovered this lampshade. Cut 1.5" strips, surged edges, gathered strips (Using elastic thread) and hot glued it down. It was surprisingly easy and I love how it turned out.

Movies in the car, Thomas boots and a GIANT Holiday cup filled with caffeinated soda... doesn't get much better! (That's not Noahs drink btw... Dave fell into peer pressure at work and splurged on a huge, trucker beverage cup. Apparently everybody's doing it at the office :)

Over the weekend I joked about how much weight I could gain from last week to this week (Because of the Holiday) and to my surprise I gained... ZERO! Pretty amazing right?!! I was shocked. I feel huge and am definitely rolling off the bed when morning arrives.

I strapped in the car seat today thinking "This is real and it's going to happen really soon." I'm nervous and anxious all at the same time.

Lately when we go to stores, Noah somehow discovers some kind of bird for sale in each store. He calls them his "Tweet tweet" and carries them around the whole time we're there. Lucky for me, he doesn't freak out when I tell him we're not taking the bird home :)

Noah's been sleeping in lately... like until 10am. Lets be honest, I love it, I love my mornings all alone (Which won't happen much longer, when I have 2 kids). So before he wakes, I've been making French toast. Here's the recipe we've been using:

-Banana French Toast-

4 large eggs
2 T. banana
1/4 t. cinnamon
4 slices bread

In shallow bowl whisk eggs, banana puree and cinnamon. Dip the bread. Coat non-stick skillet with cooking spray and cook.

I also make my own syrup, It's super easy and makes your meal taste so much better then Aunt Jamima! You'll need this:

Then mix 1 C. boiling water with 2 cups sugar, 1/4 tsp. Mapleine and viola! Homemade syrup. The longer you let it simmer the thicker it gets. Enjoy :)

I can't wait to see her face and determine who she looks like, count her toes and watch her grow into a chubby little girlie. When we first arrived in Utah I felt so bored. Not many friends, no clients and not much to do here. But, now that we've purchased a home things have totally changed. When we walked through this house we knew there would be a few things that needed fixing/updating, but we had no idea what we were really in for. We've been patching nail holes, tearing out carpet, caulking, sanitizing, painting, carpet cleaning, window washing and much more. Only a few rooms are complete but I must say we've done a pretty good job so far. It's been fun turning this house into our own. Right now it feels as if we're living in the middle of a construction zone. Most of my decorations and furniture are still in the garage and I'm pretty sure once I start pulling it out it will feel more like a home. My mind is definitely not on Christmas right now and I should probably start panicking because I haven't bought any gifts yet and haven't had time to make or send Christmas cards... I'll post house pictures once everything is in order, which could be months :)

Today is my main mans B-day. To be honest, I really hate reading cheesy, mushy posts that people write about their husbands so I'm gonna make this quick and mention a few reasons why I like Dave.

He makes me belly laugh daily, whether its him limping inside from getting his butt kicked at the gym (By Rory) or singing a horribly off tune song, he always manages to make me smile.

He reaches out to those who need a friend. When we lived in Orange a whole new side of Dave came out, he became EQP and influenced so many people for the better just by being their friend. I'm so proud of him for that.

He's dang smart. He passed two state Bars on the first try, served a Spanish speaking mission, is now a District attorney... I try to convince him he's smart but he doesn't agree.

He's so nice to me. Sometimes he comes home and I've done nothing all freaking day... does he care? Of course not, he looks at me no differently.

He's a morning person and I'm definitely not (I did get up at 5:30 this morning to make him breakfast though). He wakes me every morning to say goodbye and he's always so happy, I love it.

Dave is such a fun dude! I feel so lucky that I get to spend my life with him right by my side. Hope your day is wonderful! Happy Birthday!!!

Happy November! I've been busy sewing, painting and creating a few sweet little things for this new baby girl (Pictures coming soon). I'm 29 weeks and feeling further along then I really am. It's getting hard to sleep, my back's beginning to hurt and none of my shirts are long enough. It's so fun that she wiggles and moves all around and I can see my tummy rumbling. Purchasing a home...

We found the perfect little house to rent and committed to renting... but I went home that night and felt sick about it, I couldn't sleep and decided we shouldn't rent the house. We decided we should try to buy. I started the very tedious and not fun home search and we found one... put in the offer Monday, and it was accepted yesterday! We're on pins and needles hoping the seller doesn't back out and that we have no problems with the loan going through. If all works out we'll be in our new home December first.

The house is great. It has a huge yard with 1 peach, and 2 apple trees, new carpet, marble counters and enough space for the whole Family, including the new baby. I'm looking forward to having my very own washer and dryer, garage and garden. We're so excited and know there was a reason we felt like we shouldn't rent!

The mustache

My Mom said he shaved it once and he felt like he looked like Kermit the frog, so he grew it back and has never shaved it again.

When Dave and I were dating he decided to grow out a mustache... what did I do? Cried. I told him mustaches were for old men, not for a 25 year old. But now that I'm becoming an older woman I actually don't mind them so much. Dave goes through mustache phases, when we lived in Orange he grew out his mustache every Wednesday... why? Well in Dave's own words "A mustache COMMANDS respect" He claims he needed it when he was throwing people in jail for not paying their child support.

So today, once again, he's growing out the stache' But this time he's growing it for our trip to Las Vegas, maybe so he'll look 21.

I like my Dave both with or without the mustache. And, I'm planning on making a pink one of these just to represent.

The return of Meatloaf

After 22 days we thought he was gone for good, but lo and behold... he returned. Well not quite, the neighbor across the street found him in his motor home. How long was he in there??? Nobody knows. I told Dave to ask the cat but Meaty gave no response. He's a little skinny, sleeping a lot, but over all acting like his regular self. Noah keeps saying "We found Meatloaf!" All of us are so happy to have him back!!!

GIRL!

Last night we had to take a trip to the E.R. because I was having some strange and way too early stomach cramps (But everything is okay and the cramps are gone). They did an ultra-sound and there was no mistaking that it's a girl in there. Dave and I (And our Families) are so very excited! I kept waking in my sleep last night pinching myself because I wasn't sure if it was real. All I can do is smile.

Hello friends. Well, our life as we know it is about to drastically change. My cute husband interviewed way to well and landed himself a big attorney job in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yes, I'm so super excited to live by my Family again but, I'm so nervous to go. Orange has been our home for 5 years, we love our ward, they accepted us in when we knew nobody, and eventually became our Family. Law school was crazy, we were broke, my job sucked, My Family was far away, Dave was always gone, life was hard. We thought we'd be right back to Utah when it was over, but even through all the hard times we realized California living is pretty good. We've made so many good friends whom we will miss dearly. I have the best girlfriends who've always been there for me, I'm going to miss hanging out with them so much. Dave has become quite the active guy thanks to his friends, he loves mountain biking and testing his endurance in triathalons and bike races. We've had friends come and go but we have loved each of them.

Cute little Noah will always be our OC baby, I brought him home on a bright sunny spring day, typical SoCal weather... Won't be the same for the next one. We took him to the beach for picnics when he was just a few weeks old. When he got old enough to crawl he would eat sand and I had to accept that it was inevitable. He's never needed winter clothes or snow boots, just lots of swimsuits and beach toys. He's been spoiled by his Grandma Booth, she and Jim take him at least once a week to Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm, they ride the trains and get cotton candy. Um... what's better then that when you're a kid? Not much. He's going to miss her, when they arrive to pick him up he jumps up and down with excitement, he loves her.

One thing I won't miss is paying way too much in rent for a small little townhouse. Although, our home has been a blessing and we've made it our own. My parents and sister came down this last weekend to help us pack and get everything ready to be moved. Now our house is almost completely empty. We'll be sleeping on an air mattress for the next 2 weeks... lovely. It will be nice when I get my bed back! My Family did SO much and I am so grateful for their help, I actually had to work in Long Beach at a wedding while they packed up everything and they were so nice to me even though I wasn't there to help. I love my Fam.

We're looking forward to the changing seasons, BYU games, enjoying the outdoors, skiing and snowboarding, getting a house... with a yard, lower taxes, being around Family and just starting fresh. We'll never forget our days here in Orange County, it's been the best and we've learned so much about ourselves. Here's to the start of a new adventure... wish us luck!
